AboutExpedion Inc.

Built by people who ran freight forwarding ops desks.

Expedion Inc. is a managed AI workforce for freight forwarding operations, headquartered in San Francisco. Our team has 18 years of combined experience in container logistics and has worked with 20+ global shipping lines across Asia, Europe, and North America trade lanes. We are not a general-purpose automation vendor trying to learn freight — we started from freight.

Who we are

Expedion Inc. is a company headquartered in San Francisco, California, United States. We build software agents that execute the repetitive parts of a freight forwarder's ops desk — shipping instructions, bill of lading management, advance manifest filings, tracking, booking amendments — under human supervision, against measurable accuracy thresholds.

We sell a service outcome, not a tool. When you work with Expedion, our agents sit alongside your ops team on a defined set of workflows. Your team owns the shipment and the customer relationship; we take the keystroke work off their plate and surface the decisions worth their attention.

Why Expedion exists

Freight forwarding ops desks are drowning in documentation work that should not require human judgement. Most shipping instructions are structured data moved from one system to another under a cut-off deadline. Most BL amendments are corrections to fields the original SI should have carried. Most tracking work is reconciliation between a carrier portal and the TMS. Most advance manifest filings are rule-based transformations of fields the booking already contains.

None of this is creative work. None of it needs the judgement of a senior ops professional. But it all needs to be done precisely, on time, and with an audit trail — and the cost of a single miss is a stuck container, a fee-bearing amendment, or a missed loading.

We built Expedion because the senior ops staff we talked to — the people who have been running forwarder desks for a decade or more — kept describing the same pattern. Their best people were spending most of their week on data entry and exception triage. Hiring more junior staff did not scale. Existing TMS automation covered the happy path but broke on the long tail of carrier-specific rules. An AI workforce that runs inside the existing TMS, with human approval on every output during the pilot phase, is the shape of the fix.

Our team

The Expedion team has 18 years of combined experience in container logistics. We have worked with 20+ global shipping lines across Asia, Europe, and North America trade lanes. Our prior ventures include digital freight forwarding, freight ERP, and container logistics infrastructure — the three categories where we have shipped production software for forwarders, shipping lines, and terminal operators.

The team is deliberately weighted toward operators and domain engineers rather than generalist SaaS hires. Every workflow Expedion automates was designed with an ops practitioner at the table — not interpreted from documentation by someone who has never seen a SynCon Hub cut-off fail at 17:00 on the eve of sailing.

How we work

Expedion is a managed AI workforce, not a DIY automation platform. What that means in practice:

Agents run inside your existing TMS and carrier portals. We do not ask you to migrate systems, and we do not replace your ops team. Your system of record stays where it is.

Humans stay in the loop. During pilot, every document our agents produce is reviewed by your team before it leaves the building. During production, we operate against explicit accuracy thresholds — not best-effort — and human review is triggered on any output that falls below threshold or that hits a carrier-specific exception rule.

We have a rollback. If an accuracy threshold is missed on a given workflow, we pause that workflow, restore the prior process, and re-enter with a scoped fix. No black-box behaviour, no silent degradation, no long-running errors that surface only at invoice time.

We re-baseline against your actual volume, not a projection. Production pricing is set against the workload we actually take off your team's desk. When that volume grows, we adjust. When it shrinks, we adjust. The fee reflects the service, not a seat count.
