When a carrier blanks a sailing, every booking on it must be re-planned: affected cargo is typically rolled to a later sailing, and downstream schedules slip. The decision for the forwarder is whether to accept the later sailing or re-book on a different service or carrier to protect the delivery date. A blank sailing is not the same as a port omission, where the vessel still sails its loop but skips one scheduled port call: in a blank sailing, the scheduled sailing itself is cancelled.
